Part Time Customer Service Rep Job Description The colleges, schools and universities that are part of the Career Education Corporation (CEC) family offer high quality education to approximately 100,000 students across the world in a variety of career-oriented disciplines. The 80-plus campuses that serve these students are located throughout the U. S., Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates and offer doctoral, master's, bachelor's, and associate degrees and diploma and certificate programs. We are currently seeking an experienced customer service professional for the following position: CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE, Part-Time Elgin, IL Salary: $12.00/hr. Schedule: 4pm-10pm Monday – Thursday, 9am – 3 pm Saturday (20-25 hours weekly) Outbound Calls – Complete follow–up phone calls on previous requests for information Inbound Calls- Complete calls from customers requesting information This is not a Sales Position. Responsibilities: • Answer inbound telephone calls from potential customers. • Determine if caller is a viable prospect by asking predetermined questions. • Must exhibit a high degree of empathy, enthusiasm and knowledge about the product & services in order to “sell” the caller. • May set appointments when applicable. • Complete any pertinent data obtained from the caller in the computer based system. • Participate in focus group sessions. • Complete outbound calls as needed. • Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent related work experience and/or training. • Prior customer service/call center experience preferred. • Computer literate in MS Office programs. • Ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously. • Strong written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills.
