Part-Time Early Childhood Movement Teacher (one morning per week)

(Start date: August 2008)

Independent preschool/elementary school (age 2.9 to Grade 5) seeks candidates with a strong commitment to, and passion for, early childhood movement education. We are looking for an individual who will bring expertise and enthusiasm to movement classes and has the desire to work closely with teachers to ensure an enriching and fun learning experience.

Successful candidates will demonstrate their ability to:
1.  Implement a creative and developmentally based curriculum for children ages 2.9—5 years that incorporates skill themes and movement concepts.
2.  Provide a fun learning environment that will help children become familiar with their bodies’ movement potential.
3.  Help children become confident as they develop fundamental movement skills.

Qualifications:
•  BA in related field
•  Demonstrated experience working with young children
•  Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate movement curriculum for young children
•  Commitment to developmental, multi-cultural, anti-bias education
