Part-Time Program Leader

THINK Together (www.thinktogether.org) is a large non-profit afterschool learning program for students in Southern California. THINK Together is currently hiring large numbers of part-time Program Leaders for work in our Los Angeles County, Foothill,Inland Empire,& Orange County Regions. Under the supervision of a Site Coordinator, a Program Leader works with a group of approximately 20 students in a classroom setting in a THINK Together after school program at a public school. Most Program Leader time is spent directly working with students. Training, curriculum, and materials provided. 

The L.A. County Region works with these school districts: Los Nietos, South Whittier, Little Lake City, Basset, Baldwin Park, and Norwalk/La Mirada school districts.

Below is a summary of the Program Leader position.
Hours:
· 15-20 Hours/Week · These are 3-4 hour shifts each afternoon
· You must be able to work every day, Monday through Friday
· Some Substitute Positions Available for Those Unable to Work All 5 Days

Rate: $11.50 per hour

Requirements:
· Associate’s Degree or 48 hours of college credit (verification by copy of transcripts) or, if less than 48 units, by passing an Instructional Aide Screening Exam.
· Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public school setting
· Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)
· TB Test required

Preferences:
· Bilingual (Spanish) preferred at some locations
· At least six months previous experience working with children in a classroom or afterschool environment

Responsibilities:
· Supervises a group of approximately 20 students in an instructional setting, maintaining high standards for behavior and safety
· Provides homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity, using curriculum and materials provided by the program
· Monitors student behavior and takes disciplinary measures when appropriate
· Serves as a positive role model for children in the program through appropriate dress, speech, and attitude
· Identifies student needs and communicates those to teachers, staff, and volunteers as appropriate
· Monitors all interactions between volunteers and students in accordance with child safety guidelines
· Assists with clerical work and maintains sign-in/ sign-out sheets for students and volunteers
· Assists in set up and keeping site clean
· Attends meetings and trainings
· Arrives punctually
