Job Summary:  Manage payroll services and tax filings for multi-state, multi-business unit work environment. Job Responsibilities: Essential Functions:· Manage the accurate and timely completion of weekly and bi-weekly payroll processes.· Oversee outsourced payroll tax filing agent· Research and respond to payroll inquiries made by government offices, internal management and the company’s owners· Organize and assign work amongst staff ensuring fully efficient payroll operation, overall professional growth and the department’s ability to meet all company deadlines· Develop strong internal controls· Assist in and provide resources for payroll account reconciliation as requested by Corporate Accounting department· Directly review, audit and control the flow of information to various areas as required including GL and Payroll interfaces, HR and Payroll interfaces, Tax and Payroll interfaces.· Oversee the testing and implementation of any software/hardware changes or upgrades.· Develop written policies and procedures· Own all month end, quarter end and annual close procedures for payroll related activities· Assist HR, Benefits, Operations, Legal and Accounting by providing requested reports and information in a timely manner.· Control labor expense by enforcing compliance with wage policies.· Manage hiring, training, quality control and career development of all employees within the Payroll Services Department· Supply written training and communication to field operations to ensure compliance with payroll requirements and regulations.· Establish mechanisms to enhance and monitor customer service· Other duties as assigned Adaptability Requirements: High-Position requires a high degree of adaptability.  Incumbent will be faced with a variety of issues on a day-to-day basis and will be expected to respond to these issues appropriately. Working Conditions: Deadline oriented function with overtime and/or travel necessary at times.  Incumbent will be required to proactively work out problems and implement solutions.  Work is primarily performed in an office environment.  Incumbent may be required to sit for long periods of time.  Incumbent will be required to talk on the telephone and use a computer. Experience and Education: - 10+ years of payroll experience required- 5+ years of supervisory/managerial experience required- Experience in large scale multi-state, multi-unit environment- Experience in managing payroll tax filing- Knowledge of federal, state and local payroll regulations Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  - Oracle HRMS experience required- Strong written and oral communication skills required- Must be able to manage multiple tasks- Must be able to work alone or with others- Analytical thinking required- Must be able to communicate and interact with all levels of staff and management   We offer a comprehensive benefits package, childcare discount and more!
