Pediatric Urology NP/PA

Full-time position in the Department of Urology, Division of Pediatric Urology for a CPNP or PA-C with three years of experience in pediatrics and/or urology to assist in clinical management of patients as well as with research projects. The candidate will be a flexible clinician performing and interpreting studies in the pediatric urodynamics laboratory as well as conducting follow-up phone consultation for patients with voiding dysfunction and other urologic problems. Other duties will include ordering appropriate laboratory and radiological studies and following up on results, changing dressings, teaching clean intermittent catheterization, answering pre- and postoperative questions from parents, gathering data, and acting as liaison to the spina bifida center. The incumbent will be responsible for taking the patient’s history, completing a physical exam as needed, and constructing a thoughtful differential diagnosis as well as tailoring an individualized and evidence-based treatment plan.

Requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience. Current certification as a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant in New York State required. Experience in urodynamics preferred. Experience with database tools like Access and or willingness to learn very helpful. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and collaborative team approach to patient care required.
