Huron Consulting Group's Higher Education Consulting team is a national leader in providing consulting services to universities and academic medical centers to develop and implement solutions that address the operational and regulatory requirements in a manner consistent with each institutions unique culture. Huron has worked with 60 of the 100 top research institutions in the country. In addition, Huron Consulting Group has assisted over 20 institutions with the implementation of PeopleSoft functionality to manage research activity. Members of Huron's Higher Education Consulting team possess proven track records of success in financial or operational management at a university or academically-affiliated hospital or substantial consulting experience with universities or academic medical centers. Because of the complex nature of the projects and the seniority of the client representative, a high level of sophistication about organizational structure, financial management, and institutional strategic planning are key requirements for success. Managers provide functional guidance as PeopleSoft Financials application specialists (the Grant Management Suite, in particular) to Higher Education and Academic Medical Center clients. Will work with other Huron and client team members through the entire implementation lifecycle, including planning, configuration, design, build, conversion, training, go live, and post production support. Responsibilities include: Chart of accounts design Software configuration Identification of business process modifications Design document creation Test script identification/execution End-user training development and execution The ideal candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills; good interpersonal skills and experience facilitating group meetings and interview sessions; strong analytical skills used to translate information from meetings into documentation that can be shared with meeting participants and project teams; a positive and professional attitude; and a desire and willingness to learn new tools, techniques, concepts, and methodologies. Experience with PeopleSoft Financials (v 7.5, 8.0, 8.4 or 8.8). PeopleSoft Grants Experience (v 8.4 or 8.8) preferred First-hand experience with at least two of the following modules: Grants, Projects, Contracts, Billing and Accounts Receivable Modules Experience as a functional application specialist Excellent communication skills - oral and written - and the interpersonal skills needed quickly to establish relationships of trust and collaboration The ability to establish credibility in the eyes of senior-level, financially literate university and hospital executives on the basis of expertise, maturity, and professionalism The ability to train and participate in the professional development of Huron staff in both project-management and technical dimensions Excellent time-management and prioritization skills The ability to manage multiple projects of differing scale and duration. This position requires significant travel. We prefer our consultants to be based out of Chicago, but will consider other locations for Grants Experts.
