Part-Time Lecturer, Fall 2008

The Department of Physics at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer position for the Fall 2008 semester. This is a non-tenure-track position with responsibilities for day undergraduate laboratory and/or classroom teaching. Applicants must: (1) hold an earned masters degree in Physics or closely related field; (2) be proficient in course content and fluent in the English language; and (3) have prior teaching experience, preferably at the undergraduate level. Preferred candidates will have outstanding credentials that clearly demonstrate their teaching ability in a variety of undergraduate courses.

The Physics Department has about 40 undergraduates and 20 graduate majors and offers BS and MS degrees in Physics. The department currently has 7 tenured or tenure-track faculty and 3 full-time lecturers. The University is located in a beautiful seaside community 50 miles south of Boston, 25 miles east of Providence and a half-hour from Cape Cod.
