Product Manager, Interactive Whiteboard Solutions

To develop and execute all marketing activities, market research and segmentation, competitive analysis, product strategies, development of design briefs, pricing strategies, product introduction plans, sales support and training and life cycle management

 

Product Life Cycle Management:

§ Work with third-party vendors to develop and maintain bundled solutions around interactive whiteboards

§ Lead product launch/roll-out team. Develop and execute product introduction plan.

§ Responsible for sales history and forecasts of product lines throughout the product life cycle.

§ Recommend product line extensions, enhancements, cost reductions, etc., which extend the life and profitability of specific products and ensure the vitality of the portfolio as a whole. 

§ Accept responsibility for profit/loss of portfolio before competitive discount by developing list price strategies based on market and cost analysis.

§ Recommend products for culling, with implementation timelines.

 

Product Marketing Information:

§ Produce design briefs for new product initiatives at conceptual stage of product development.

§ Maintain product development information book, to document status of product development projects for development team and senior management.

§ Produce product information guides for sales force at launch, in conjunction with sales and marketing communications.

 

Market Research:

§ Perform extensive market research on industry, competition, and customers’ perception of company position, image and products. 

§ Interface with Steelcase Marketing departments to maximize benefit to PolyVision and to appropriately align PolyVision with Steelcase Marketing plans and strategies.

 

Market Segmentation and Analysis:

§ Analyze and define specific or new market segments by size, competitors, un-met needs, customer type, etc. 

§ Make recommendations to senior management to pursue those segments which offer the greatest potential.

§ Maintain Product Rationalization Map to graphically display product positioning with respect to competition.

 

Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:

·  Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Masters preferred.

·  Minimum of five (5) years of experience in technology product management.

§  Broad knowledge of marketing research and analysis tools, techniques and applications.

§  Broad knowledge of industry and company marketing strategies.

§  Strong negotiation skills.

§  Ability to conceptualize, analyze, and logically organize for presentation of strategic product recommendations.

§  High level of organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.

§  Understanding of sales processes.

§  Ability to develop and recommend new and/or modified operating policies that enhance the impact and profitability of assigned product/program/audience segment

§  Excellent oral and written communications skills for interaction with multiple functions and levels within the organization and to make group presentations.

§  Must be highly effective at consensus building and negotiation.

§  Ability to analyze sales & financial data.

§  Ability to manage multiple, competing demands & activities.

§  Ability and willingness to travel domestically/internationally approximately 25% of the time, for extended periods of time, as required, to successfully perform assigned tasks.

§  Direct experience in the K-12 education or the audio-visual equipment manufacturer area is an asset.
