Professional Development Specialist, Elementary Math Education

The Center for Mathematics Excellence Implementation work focuses on mathematics teaching and earning. CME provides services and support for schools and districts implementing the Investigations in Number, Data, and Space 2ndEdition curriculum.


 

Staff in this position will work as a junior member of the Implementation Center.  Work in the Implementation Center focuses on designing and delivering professional development; developing and disseminating information to school systems and other audiences via the website, video, and print materials; and supporting schools and districts in implementing the Investigations curriculum. Responsibilities include:


  Revising and/or developing sessions for Investigations Institutes and Workshops Supporting implementation of Investigations 2nd Edition in schools and districts Producing and distributing information about Investigations 2nd Edition Identifying emphases for future offerings






QUALIFICATIONS

 

Candidates should have experience working with schools and the Investigations 2ndEdition curriculum.  A B.S. or B.A. in Education/Elementary Education preferred. 





Qualifications include:

  Knowledge of the goals, content, philosophy, and pedagogy of the Investigations curriculum, particularly the 2nd Edition Demonstrated ability to complete complex tasks Strong writing skills Strong organization skills Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues Ability to deal with ambiguity and to be flexible as tasks evolve
