Temple University is the 28th-largest university in the United States, and it is the 6th-largest provider of professional education (law, dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, and podiatric medicine) in the country.Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, you will be responsible for assisting and managing the daily administration of an NIH-funded project that measures biological factors related to the risk of preterm birth among pregnant women seeking prenatal care. You will also be responsible for establishing and meeting weekly recruitment goals, providing complete data collection and participating in the direction and priorities of the project. Additional duties include: • Daily patient recruitment, interviewing, sample collection, follow-up interviewing, medical record abstraction and pregnancy outcome classification of study participants • Planning and monitoring weekly patient schedules in the prenatal care clinics affiliated with Temple University • Organizing interview logs and ongoing patient follow-up using an Access-based patient tracking system • Overseeing the collection, temporary storage and shipping of all laboratory specimens • Overseeing tracking of all laboratory data, including overseeing and monitoring the repeat interviewing and swab collection for each participant, OB medical chart and ultrasound report abstractionQualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a related field; degree involving clinical training would be an asset • Minimum of 2 years of related experience • Proficiency with Access and other Microsoft Office software • Knowledge of applicable professional principles and extensive knowledge of University policies and proceduresTo apply for this position and view other Temple opportunities, please visit our Web site at www.temple.edu and click on Jobs@temple.
