Program Manager

The Program Manager will steer, lead, and/or control one or more projects to a successful completion including business benefit delivery, on-schedule, on-budget. This role will: - Include travel to various Pearson sites. - Assist and support business case creation.- Ensure projects meet business benefits, delivery dates and stay within budgets by providing direct project management support as required. - Engage senior management sponsors in a collaborative, confident, professional and influential manner. - Work closely and collaborate with senior management sponsors in developing project and program objectives, deliverables, scope and structure. - Support product development initiatives, promoting cross-functional collaboration and integration while achieving targeted benefits and goals. Requiring analysis skills and an understanding of business processes. - Recommend improvements to project management policies and guidelines.- Direct virtual teams as large as 20 - 50 participants REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE - Experience in project managing large complex projects (over $10m) to a successful conclusion (on time, on budget, business benefits delivered)- Minimum 7-10 years project management, operations or strategy analyst experience. - Minimum BA/BS in a Project Management, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Computer Science, Logistics, or education related discipline.- PMP Certification a plus- Process Management and/or certification a plus- Expertise in Lean and/or Six Sigma a plusREQUIRED SKILLS- Goal oriented and action-focused, pragmatic and self-disciplined, good at project planning, organizing, communication, team motivation and delegation- Negotiation / Persuasive Collaboration- Project and Process Management- Financial analysis in support of business case development- Process analysis, documentation and mapping- Communication / meeting facilitation skills - Ability to perform well under pressure- Excellent communication, influencing and listening skills
