Public Safety Officer - Public Safety

Summary:

The Public Safety Officer will be responsible for safety, security, and communications for the Department of Public Safety. The person in this sector will be required to work a walking patrol, sit at a fixed security post, or function as the communications officer.

Requirements:

A High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates must possess a valid Massachusetts driver's license and must be capable of obtaining a Firearms Identification Card. Candidates will also need excellent organizational, customer service, communications, and writing skills, be comfortable working with various types of technology and have a keen eye for detail. Preferred applicants should have a degree in an appropriate field, experience in law enforcement and security, particularly in an academic setting and APCO, PowerPhone or other dispatch training.
