Purchasing Agent

Among all of our current opportunities, we have a Purchasing Agent position that is responsible for purchasing activities, consistent with established purchasing procedures, in a complex organization. These responsibilities mainly include construction bid processing, management of vendors, approval oversight to insure compliance with processes, equipment, and materials for departments within assigned procurement authority. The position requires some technical knowledge, or solid product knowledge, having high complexity, or broad institutional usage and/or very high dollar expenditures. Developmental position responsible for informal negotiations with suppliers while performing individual day-to-day purchases. We offer highly competitive salaries based on experience and education. To qualify for this great opportunity, the minimum qualifications include a Bachelor?s in business administration or related field and 2-4 years of experience in purchasing, or equivalent. Experience in academic, research, or construction purchasing preferred and working knowledge of computerized purchasing information systems and Microsoft Office is required.
