QA Analyst

Description:Position Summary:The Quality Assurance Analyst Works as a member of the QA and project team in coordination with the Quality Assurance to develop and ensure Quality solutions for complex and difficult Projects and / or applications under test, with the use of but not limited to Quality assurance, test tools (Microsoft / Mercury) as examples, or any tools that increase efficiency and productivity of QA and Test effort.Major Responsibilities:The types of tasks typically performed include:oAnalyzing requirements and collaborating with QA team members 10%oDeveloping test cases / scripts based on a test plan. 30%oExecuting and reporting defects throughout the SDLC within projects. 30%oUsing Mercury tools to store and execute test plans and track defectsoProviding execution results and defect reports to communicate project / application status 10% oSupervising, monitoring, and motivating assigned teams 5% Hiring, training, evaluating employees 5%oLiaising with other Kaplan College and Kaplan Higher Education departments 5%oPreparing reports and Standard Operating Procedures 5%Required Knowledge and Experience:oAbility to apply basic Quality assurance and test principles, theories and concepts.oAbility to apply basic software QA Analyst principles, theories and concepts. oFamiliarity with basic software Microsoft Solutions Foundations methodology, (MSF)Education: B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.Measurement of Success:The following are more specific metrics and benchmarks which the Assurance Analyst is expected to maintain: oMust be detailed oriented and have strong analytical skillsoMeet project timelines.oProvide effective test cases / Scripts for given projects and / or applications.oProvide written narrative test plans and test execution plans.oVia SQL, demonstrate ability to run or review SQL scripts. oProvide requirements traceability to display the gathering and understanding of requirements for the application under test.- Provide QA status reports to report defects, issues, execution rates, requirements traceability of applications under test.- Must have worked evenings/weekends as necessary- Must be involved and maintain project management presence among project teams. - Demonstrates the ability to follow processes, work effectively in a team, and maintain a positive attitude- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills via documents, e-mails and in person or in meetings.- Ability to work well with people and quickly learn job functions and skills of personnel in business areas.- Ability to stay focused and detail-oriented in a fast-paced dynamic environment.Qualifications:see job descriptionSalary/Benefits: > $75,000Full time employees enjoy these outstanding benefits: *401(k) plan *Comprehensive health, dental and short term disability & long term disability plans *Business casual dress code *Sick days, personal days, holidays, and vacation days *A friendly, team oriented environmentJob Location: Fort Lauderdale, FLJob Number: 6531BRCompany URL: http://www.kaplan.eduCompany Profile:Kaplan University is an institution of higher learning dedicated to providing innovative undergraduate, graduate, and continuing professional education.
