QA Supervisor

A rapidly growing company, founded in 1971, Bisk Education, which facilitates the promotion and online delivery of degree and certificate programs from the nation’s leading traditional universities, is expanding its staff.

 

We are currently seeking a QA Supervisor to join the Internal Technology Team.  The ideal candidate will possess experience working in a fast-paced IT environment on medium to large-scale projects, and is a self-motivated team player possessing excellent communication and analytic skills with the proven ability to partner with business and IT teams.

 

The QA Supervisor will create, automate when beneficial, and execute test plans and test scripts for accurately testing and debugging designated software applications and verify that SDLC standards and procedures are followed and quality products and enhancements are released to production.  The QA Supervisor will lead a team of testers.

 

The QA function will be managed and executed by the QA Supervisor to ensure product quality and reduce production down-time while ensuring business requirements are met through delivery.

 

Responsibilities:Design a solid automation framework where test scripts are reusable and easily maintained.Perform identification and implementation of the automation framework, environment, approach, and methodologies which will be used for automated testing.Design, implement and maintain test strategies, test plans and test scripts for functional, stress and load of company's software applications.Develop detailed documentation to support the automation effort.Execute test scripts, report detailed defects description through defect tracking tools.Continually review and improve testing process and implementation.Assist in estimating testing efforts and providing status updates.Manage QA testing team to ensure consistent process and quality deployments of software applications and enhancements.Attend and participate in project-level reviews, walkthrough and inspection.Conduct requirement and test plan review.Identify automation opportunities of exiting test plans, automate and execute them and report results.Generate test data and recognize test environment preparation needs.Provide timeline information about quality assurance and control tasks.Autonomously participate in project and ensure timely project delivery. Be responsible for a smaller piece of a large project.Communicate quality assurance and control processes to all team members.Collect and publish quality metric data for project management.Develop recommendations on how to improve the overall quality and reliability of products and services thought the solutions development life cycle.Participate in the exchange of ideas and information within the department.Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.Ask questions; encourage input from team members.Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all areas pertaining to data and proprietary information.Understand and embrace the business and IT strategic direction.

Requirements:

· Customer service skills are required as well as effective communication skills – both verbal and written.

· Good knowledge of quality control and assurance standards, methodologies and processes.

· Good knowledge of quality control testing, debugging, test automation and defect tracking tools. Ability to work independently and in group setting.

· Experience in implementing and utilizing automated testing methods using automated tools.

The QA Supervisor position requires a minimum of 3+ years experience as a QA Tester or QA Supervisor with at least 1-2 years in leading teams.  Experience is required in all phases of SDLC and working within development teams.  Solid proficiency with MS Office, automated testing tools and structured methodology experience is required. 

 

A minimum of a Bachelor degree preferably in MIS, Finance or Accounting is required.
