Quality Assurance Manager - State ReportingJob DescriptionPearson is the market leader in providing Student Information Systems to Kindergarten though 12th grade schools, and we are looking for a skilled and energetic Quality Assurance manager to lead our State Reporting test efforts. In this role you will manage the daily testing efforts of a multi-location team of test developers, and work on further staffing the team to an appropriate size. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to build a quality assurance and testing methodology that will enable you to deliver quality releases in a timely manner. If you are a confident leader who can assess the present, plan for the future, and then motivate the team that will get you there, then this may be the perfect role for you!Your responsibilities will include: - Perform necessary staff coaching to ensure existing staff is performing optimally.- Perform Quality Assurance release planning for current releases to ensure we are developing and executing the right test suites, identifying and communicating known risks and their mitigation strategies, and delivering quality products on schedule.- Perform resource analysis to determine future growth needs of the team.- Define a State Reporting QA methodology that all stakeholders can rally behind, and then ensure its successful implementation.- Provide regular status reports on release testing efforts to the various State Reporting stakeholders.- Challenge established Development and Quality Assurance processes and standards and be a champion in driving further efficiencies. Skills Requirements- BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent education.- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience working as a Quality Assurance manager in the software industry.- Experience with multi-location test teams, including off-shore QA models.- Experience in process development and refinement.- Thorough understanding of established quality assurance methodologies.- Thorough understanding of the development lifecycle and exposure to various development methodologies.- Working knowledge of Mercury Interactive tools such as Quick Test Pro (QTP) and Quality Center. (Experience with other similar tools is also acceptable.)- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills- Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills- A PLUS! - Previous experience in the field of K-12 education, Student Information Systems, or State Attendance Reporting.
