Recruitment Specialist
The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a talented individual for the following exciting career opportunity within the Workforce Planning Unit of the Department of Human Resources.
POSITION - The Recruitment Specialist provides professional recruitment support activities to identify candidates for employment for the purpose of filling vacant positions in all geographical areas of the Chicago Public Schools.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to participating and assisting in the organization of on-campus, and CPS hosted job fairs, workshops and other recruitment-related events, participating in recruitment information sessions with prospective new teacher candidates to explain the teaching requirements and application procedures of the Chicago Public Schools, managing applicant responses received via email, fax, and regular mail, and responding to calls received via the Recruitment and Workforce Planning Call Center.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - B.A. Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education or related field of study from an accredited college or university along with a minimum of 3-5 years progressive recruitment experience required. Experience with campus recruitment desired. Demonstrated project and time management experience in fast paced, deadline-driven environment and experience in creating and implementing an effective recruitment strategic plan to source, identify, and market potential candidates for available positions. Must demonstrate strong presentation skills and have the ability to establish and maintain effective positive working relationships with Recruitment and Workforce Planning Team members as well as all levels of the CPS organization. Excellent skills in the following areas: oral and written communication, interviewing and assessment, and personal computer usage (including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications). Ability to travel required. Chicago residency is required within 6 months of accepting an offer of employment with the CPS.
