Job Description McGraw-Hill Education addresses virtually every aspect of the education market from pre-K through professional learning. McGraw-Hill Higher Education, a division of McGraw-Hill Education, is a leading provider of print and electronic materials serving the college market, publishing instructional materials including textbooks, lab manuals, study guides, testing materials, software, and multimedia products. The Higher Education division has an outstanding opportunity available for a Regional Sales Manager in our Humanities, Social Science and World Languages (HSSL) group. This position works out of a home office based out of the New York metro area and is responsible for the Northeast Region. This exciting leadership position is responsible for successfully managing a team of nine Sales Representatives. Sales Representatives are responsible within a territory for growing business and maximizing sales of content solutions to colleges (digital assets, custom solutions, and text books), developing strong relationships with faculty and administrators, and identifying new product acquisition opportunities, both print and digital. Responsibilities include: • Recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and managing Sales Representatives to success in all assigned goals. • Driving sales success as well as managing expenses to meet territory profitability goals. • Creating and implementing policies and business objectives developed in collaboration with senior management. • Bachelor's degree required • 3+ years successful sales experience required • College textbook publishing industry experience strongly preferred • Experience as a Marketing Manager, Acquisitions Editor or eLearning Consultant helpful • Strong understanding of needs-based selling • Technology sales experience helpful • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills • Knowledge of Microsoft office products, must be technology savvy • 50% to 60% travel required The successful candidate need not have prior managerial experience but must be a highly motivated, high potential individual with demonstrated sales success. The ideal candidate will be open to relocating in the future as determined by business needs. Reports to: Senior Regional Sales Manager Compensation includes base salary, performance-based incentive bonus, full benefits, and a company car.
