The Department of Policy Analysis and Management within the College of Human Ecology is seeking a Research Aide to provide support on a variety of research projects while interacting with and assisting multiple faculty. Research projects will change over time.



The incumbent will: Prepare and edit various research manuscripts to meet publication style guidelines.Accurately maintain and track various stages of multiple research papers, often working with multiple authors. Maintain correspondence, billing, contracts and annual updates for 480 CNEF/SOEP data set users. Respond to requests for information in a timely manner. Coordinate all aspects of the bi-annual CNEF/SOEP User Conference. Oversee project to assist faculty integrate digitized video clips into classroom presentations. This project includes identifying specialized equipment for tasks such as editing multiple media formats and storing large quantities of video clips as electronic files, interfacing with faculty to identify subject matter needed and locating sources meeting such needs, using media editing software such as Dazzle Pinnacle Systems, maintaining and updating a searchable digital library.

This is a two-year term position with possibility of renewal dependent upon funding and performance.


Required Qualifications:

Associates degree with 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience with PC software programs (Word, Excel, FileMaker Pro) and media editing software is essential. Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and work well under pressure while meeting multiple competing priorities. Must exhibit sound judgment and excellent organizational skills while paying careful attention to details. Must work collaboratively with faculty to promote use of integrated digitized media.
