Research Specialist or Assoc Research Specialist

The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Center for Limnology invites applicants to apply for the position of  Research Specialist.  This position will assist a team of economists and ecologists to integrate social science research with an ongoing ecological research program. Responsibilities include performing large scale spatial data management, assisting with the administration of surveys, integration of data into a developing data base and providing input to the writing of journal articles, reports and presentations.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in agricultural/resource economics, economics, public policy or environmental studies. Relevant experience will also include a working knowledge of GIS, database and statistical programs, the ability to work in a multi disciplinary environment and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Initially this position will be funded for 2 years, with a possibility of continuation based on performance and the availability of funding. A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hiring.  For guaranteed consideration, please submit application by May 1, 2008.
