Job Duties: 1. Prepare and cook meats, fish, vegetables, gravies, sauces, cereal, soups, fruits, bakery products and gourmet desserts. 2. Prepares and cooks foods for specials diets, special events or as assigned from recipes formulated by qualified personnel. May prepare special gourmet food in high volume.3. Assists in directing the work of other employees and insures all food in assigned work area is ready for opening each day. May modify work assignments of staff to meet operating needs.4. Insures ServSafe compliance in assigned work area and/or kitchen. Works with dining room manager on CBORD and food production to ensure recipes are being followed appropriately by cooks. 5. Assists Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef in staff training. 6. Checks in the food and supplies and insures cooks use First in First Out (FIFO) method when using food. Maintains food production records. Notifies supervisor of foods and supplies needed.7. Cleans kitchen utensils and equipment; secures refrigerators and freezers. 8. Serves foods as required.9. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.Minimum Requirements:Minimum of 2 years related food perpetration experience as a cook high end dining facility. The selected candidate must have the ability to carry a minimum of 50 pounds of cooking utensils, cooking pots, cooking supplies and cooking ingredients repetitively throughout the day.The selected candidate must pass a pre-employment background investigation and post-offer physical examination to be hired for this position.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:1. Ability to judge final product for quantity (yield) and quality (color, texture, taste, etc)2. Ability to determine the freshness and quality of raw and cooked food products by sight and taste.3. Full knowledge of sanitation standards, foodborne diseases, and foodborne illness and Safety standards.4. Full knowledge of equipment identification and their usage.5. Ability to stand for long period of time.6. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.7. Ability to provide on-the-job training in food preparation to lower levels employees.8. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with orders.9. Knowledge of weight, measures and food measurements techniques.10. Ability to perform basic mathematics addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentage conversion to decimals and count) as related to calculating or converting units of measure for determining proper amounts of food ingredients for large food production.11. Full knowledge of food preparation and garnishing methods.12. Ability to maintain food production records.13.
