Second Life Coordinator

Drexel University seeks a Second Life Coordinator for the School of Education.

The Second Life Coordinator for the School of Education (SoE) serves as the working leader for the continued development and improvement for the SoE and their strategic partners' Second Life initiatives. This includes developing and delivering ongoing professional development to promote the use of Second Life as part of the SoE faculty's continued growth in preparing and teaching online courses, keeping appropriate faculty and staff abreast of the latest changes in technology for possible use in online courses, and coordinating development and post-development activities.

Responsibilities:

-Work with the SoE faculty, staff and strategic partners to develop Second Life (SL) community and learning materials.

-Work with SoE faculty to define content and course development schedules for ongoing educational programs.

-Ensure quality design and delivery in the implementation of SL.

-Provide professional development training to SoE faculty, staff and students on teaching and managing SL presence

-Provide technical support to faculty, staff and students in the utilization of SL.

-Implement surveys, measures and audits to monitor SL design and delivery.

-Manage the development schedule of SL and document processes and procedures.

-Manage the development of the SoE SL brand and research sources of funding

-Special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 -5years experience with virtual worlds.

Experience with Second Life, MMORPGs and other gaming technologies

Experience with blogs, wikis, and digital video encoding a plus

Experience in an administrative role preferred

Knowledge of Blackboard and Photoshop desired

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
