Security Access Control Technician

Columbia University in the City of New York is looking for qualified access control/alarm monitoring system technicians for it's Department of Public Safety. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director, Technology Programs, the incumbent monitors and evaluates hardware and software issues related to the department's access control and alarm monitoring systems on the Morningside and Medical Center campuses, as well as on Columbia-owned buildings in the Manhattanville area. Incumbent provides technical leadership/support in planning and implementation of alarm monitoring and access control systems. Provides training and technical support on these systems to operational personnel on both campuses. Assists in development of 'best practices' for field personnel. Analyzes, interprets and formats selected data for use by University investigators and members of senior management in Public Safety. Assists members of the Columbia community in identifying and obtaining proper access levels in University space.
