Senior Computer Systems Analyst

Job Type Description: This position analyzes and develops computer software possessing a wide range of capabilities, including numerous engineering, business, and records management functions. Develops plans for Automated Data Processing (ADP) systems from project inception to conclusion. Analyzes the problem and the information to be processed. Defines the problem and develops system requirements and program specifications, from which programmers prepare detailed flow charts, programs, and tests. Coordinates closely with programmers to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications. In conjunction with functional users, develops system alternative solutions. 

Additional Job Information: Works independently under general direction on requirements that are complex. Analyzes and designs business applications on complex systems for large-scale computers and microcomputers. Formulates specifications for computer programmers to use in coding, testing and debugging of computer programs. Develops plans for automated data processing systems from project inception to conclusion. Pursues formal and informal training opportunities to upgrade skills and knowledge. Analyzes, develops and implements ideas for improved efficiency. May be required to provide support to major purchased software packages such as CYBORG and WALKER systems and data warehouse. Adheres to all approved division standards/procedures. Adheres to established change control procedures. 

Minimum Qualifications: Six (6) years experience of which two (2) years should be specialized in analysis and design of business applications on complex systems for large-scale computers. Prefers two (2) years experience in database management concepts using DB2 and COBOL II. All work related experience and professional growth activities will be reviewed. 

Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Accounting or other related scientific or technical discipline preferred.
