Position Summary:
The Senior Data Quality Analyst will support the establishment of a corporate-wide data quality program. The candidate must be a strong team player, results-oriented, and focused on meeting established objectives. The candidate must also be able to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate a high-level of initiative and maturity. For the data domain assigned, this role requires managing partnerships with other team members, information technology, and business communities to establish a successful data quality program. Experience and understanding of data analysis, process analysis, systems analysis, and data cleansing activities is a must. In general, the candidate will be responsible for performing operational data quality initiatives which include: data profiling, monitoring, data cleaning, data quality measurement analysis, recommendations for data defect prevention, and ETL (extraction/transformation/load) actions.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, document, maintain, and disseminate data quality standards and processes across the corporation.
2. Develop, document, maintain, and disseminate data domain profile and trending information to data domain stakeholders
3. Monitor compliance of data domain flows and data stores against data quality standards and provide related reports to data domain stakeholders.
4. Clean and/or coordinate cleaning of data flows and data stores not meeting data quality standards.
5. Identify and document areas for data quality improvement and relay this information to data domain stakeholders.
6. Partner with various data domain teams to formulate processes to address data quality issues through the appropriate choice of anomaly detection and correction, process control and improvement, and process design strategies.
Duties:
Expected high-level activities of the job include:
1. Maintain an open line of communications and a strong working relationship with data domain stakeholders in order to facilitate issue resolution.
2. Provide support for internal customers by: resolving Remedy Tickets, improving data quality standards, improving data quality processes, and providing coaching on data quality.
3. Assist with the creation and maintenance of the corporate data quality meta data dictionary.
4. Profile and analyze data within data domain and provide recommendations for improving data quality.
5. Collect, maintain, and document tracking data and metrics for data quality report generation.
6. Coordinate with information technology counterparts to: monitor data integration interfaces, support defect prevention for data conversions, support defect prevention for data consolidation, and assist with data seeding, enrichment, and validation.
7. Continually improve knowledge base to become a catalyst for continual data quality improvement.
Qualifications:
Required:
· 4 year college degree or equivalent experience.
· 3 or more years experience in data quality - hands-on experience in profiling, monitoring, cleansing, measuring, or improving data quality as part of a corporate data quality program.
· 3 or more years experience in one of the following competencies: data modeling, data analysis, data integration, data transformation and cleansing.
· Experience in creating and/or interpreting conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
· Experience with relational databases and a solid command of Structured Query Language (SQL).
· Knowledge of data quality measurements, data defect and anomaly detection and correction, data entry improvement, and costs and benefits associated with data quality.
· Excellent Microsoft Office software skills (e.g. Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
· Ability to interact well with technical and non-technical colleagues and customers in a mature manner.
· High level of initiative, responsibility, and ownership for role responsibilities and duties.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated organization and time-management skills.
Desired:
Ø Exposure to data quality tools: Oracle, DataFlux, Trillium, or Business Objects.
Ø Familiarity with process definition, improvement, implementation, measurement, and statistical process control.
Ø Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methods, tools, and techniques.
Ø Familiarity with Oracle’s E-Business Suite (EBS)
Ø Familiarity with Oracle’s Trade Community Architecture (TCA)
