Senior Electron Microscopist

School of Biomedical Science, College of Medicine at The Ohio State University Medical Center is currently looking for qualified Senior Electron Microscopist. 

 

 

 Summary of Duties:

 



Senior Campus Electron Microscopist will function as Manager for the Campus Microscopy and Imaging Facility (CMIF) which is the biomedical confocal and electron microscopy core facility serving over 70 faculty labs per year at The Ohio State University; operates and trains users on highly specialized equipment to perform sample preparation and ultra-thin sectioning on a wide variety of biological and polymer samples, including immunocytochemistry; manages and supervises all operational and administrative functions of the research lab; develops protocols for specimen preparation and use of microscopes; provides technical expertise on current research methods and lab equipment to researchers; oversees and ensures compliance for the risk management program of the lab; reviews and oversees all requests for procurement of supplies and small equipment; oversees equipment inventories; supervises maintenance of all lab equipment; supervises and trains staff; oversight for workflow of the lab to ensure timeliness and accuracy; develops and maintains laboratory and research databases for annual reporting; monitors earnings fund and reviews expenditures to ensure appropriateness; prepares billing for services.  

  

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in general biology or an equivalent combination of education and experience; specialized training in electron microscopy, analytical instrumentation and electronic equipment; computer skills; and sample preparation skills.

Target Salary:  $49,000 - $57,000 Annually
