Senior Fixed Assets Accountant

Job Summary: Maintain the Fixed Assets and Projects modules within Oracle including project closures, asset additions, retirements, transfers and depreciation.  Reconcile projects and fixed asset GL accounts to the subledger.  Create and maintain asset rollforwards.  Provide capital support to assigned business units or departments including capital expenditure guidance, appropriate accounting treatment, capital reporting and training. Job Responsibilities: Essential Functions:· Review, reconcile and close projects, including both capital and expense projects.· Reconcile assigned project and fixed asset sub-ledger accounts to the general ledger.· Prepare journal entries.· Load asset additions, disposals, transfers, etc.· Prepare fixed asset roll-forwards, gain/loss schedules, capital expenditures reports and other reports as assigned.· Assist in the testing of new systems and upgrades or modifications to existing systems.· Assist with determining and testing the financial impact of specific changes and/or projects within the Fixed Asset System.· Assist in the development of departmental and system processes and procedures.· Cross train with other Sr. Fixed Asset Accountants, train and mentor Staff Accountant position on departmental and system processes and procedures.· Various ad-hoc reporting, analysis and projects as requested by assigned business units and departments.· Provide capital support, direction and training to assigned business units and departments.· Ensure compliance with capital expenditures policy and other fixed assets policies and processes.· Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).· Comply with internal controls to protect the assets of the company.· Proactively improve processes, accuracy and efficiency.· Perform self-review of work to identify problems and solutions.· Other related duties as assigned. Adaptability Requirements: High-Position requires a high degree of adaptability.  Incumbent will be faced with a variety of issues on a day to day basis and will be expected to respond to these issues appropriately. Working Conditions: Must be adaptable to a fast pace, evolving work environment with the ability to multi-task. Deadline sensitive function with overtime necessary at times. Experience and Education:  Four year degree in accounting and 3-5 years of related work experience.  Oracle Fixed Assets and Oracle Projects experience preferred.  Experience in multi-location environment is preferable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:    Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Knowledge of GAAP.Working knowledge of various non-accounting departments (Procurement, Inventory, Facilities, Development, Real Estate and IS). We offer a comprehensive benefits package, childcare discount and more!
