Senior Microsoft Systems Administrator / Windows Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Microsoft Systems Administrator / Windows Engineer for a full time position in our Central office in Burr Ridge, IL.

 

Required Qualifications:

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level technical System Administration role is a mustExperience designing cluster and load balanced server environments in a high transaction datacenterExperince designing and managing large SAN implementationsExperiencing managing highly available redundant datacenters

 Extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining a Windows 2003 server environment including the following application services: Active Directory Exchange 2003 Terminal Server SQL server IIS (Internet Information Server) CITRIXSecurity experience hardening and managing public web servers running IIS Experience configuring backup environments (e.g. Veritas, Arcserve, Tivoli, etc.) Experience developing end user communication and rollout plans

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or technical equivalent preferred

 

 

Main Responsibilities:Provides overall vision and direction for tactical and strategic server architecture Performs analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design, installation, documentation and administration of all sever applications and hardware Serves as lead technical troubleshooter on complex server hardware and application issues

·  Supports central and branch server performance and availability

·  Maintain server security architecture and access control

·  Documentation of enterprise server topology and system configurations

·  Perform server maintenance duties (e.g. system log,  backup schedules, user accounts, etc.).Supports end users as required to provide a positive customer experience including after hour coverage

·  Coordinate testing, rollout, and application of ongoing software patches/upgrades for servers and desktop systems

·  Assists with other IT related special projects as determined by business needCoordinates with peer and contract-consulting staff to achieve project deliverables and time lines Proactively identifies ongoing cost optimization, performance enhancement, and growth strategies Assists CIO in budget preparation, cost analysis and long-range planning including proactively assessing server infrastructure needs and providing recommendations
