Duties And Responsibilities:

The Sr. Manager is responsible for leading an innovative development team of 8 that collaboratively develops and maintains database-driven, web-based applications and associated infrastructure in support of the FAS. As a hands-on manager, the position is responsible for business analysis, design, implementation, and deployment of solutions, as well as technical project and team leadership, planning, and cost management. Responsible for managing the web development group and its responsibility for all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, data modeling, software architecture, development, testing, release and maintenance.


Required Education, Experience and Skills:


A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required. A Master's degree preferred. 8+ years of IT experience that includes successful personnel management, project management, and leadership of development teams is required. Expertise in perl, Java, and Oracle essential. Requires extensive experience with web applications development in a Unix/Apache environment. Calls on project management methodology, a focus on open standards, server and infrastructure background, and knowledge of current best practices in web design, usability, and accessibility. Experience designing applications for use in an academic setting a plus, as well as with media encoding and streaming technology. Exceptional customer service, written and oral communications, and presentation skills required. The successful candidate will have a record of working effectively in and fostering highly collaborative, team-oriented environments.
