Social Recreation/Education Coordinator

Responsible To: Club Director

 

General Function: 

The Social Recreation/Education Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing recreation programs and education for all ages.

 

Principle Responsibilities:

 Promote members participation by conducting education, recreation programs and special events. Develop strong working relationship with schools, community groups, social service agencies and local officials. Implement Boys & Girls Clubs of America core programs including Keystone Club, Torch Club, Power Hour Homework, and career exploration programs. Conduct and maintain member use statistics for activities and events. Recruit and train volunteers. Develop outreach strategy to recruit new members. Maintain appropriate records of membership, participation, individual projects and program impact on members. Ensure part time staff submit statistics on a monthly basis. Enforce Club rules and policies in accordance with program philosophy. Monitor use of equipment, make minor repairs as needed and report major repairs to staff supervisor. Assist  with development and implementation of new programs. Assist in building a cooperative team. Work with Director to implement vacation week program and work schedules. Encourage staff to maintain a personal program of professional growth. Submit budget requests to supervisor.

 

Education/Experience/Skills Required:

A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.  Three years experience working with youth.  Demonstrated ability to work with children in recreation and education setting.
