The Office of Information Technology (OIT) develops and maintains mission-critical applications/ web sites for the University of Minnesota. We seek software developers to help create applications and dynamic database-driven web sites using state-of-the-art technologies. Our projects cover both interactive instructional/ teaching applications and business-oriented administrative systems, so there are many interesting challenges in a variety of areas from large-scale database applications to immersive collaborative learning environments. We are currently hiring Software Developers at two levels - 1 and 2. Level 2 developers require additional experience and will perform a larger role in client relations activities. Required qualifications include:

·  BA/BS degree in Computer Science/MIS or related field OR a combination of education and relevant work as a web developer or cross-platform distributed application developer to total 4+ years.

·  The Level 2 position requires a BA/BS degree in Computer Science/MIS or related field and 2+ years of progressively more responsible work experience as a web developer or cross-platform application developer, OR a combination of education and relevant work experience to total 6+ years.

·  Experience with web programming (HTML, JavaScript), developing in Perl or Java, and preparing technical documentation.

·  Proficient with software programming methodologies.
