Sr. Business Analyst Job Description The colleges, schools and universities that are part of the Career Education Corporation (CEC) family offer high quality education to approximately 100,000 students across the world in a variety of career-oriented disciplines. S., Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates and offer doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s, and associate degrees and diploma and certificate programs We are currently seeking an experienced professional for the following key role: Act as liaison between IT and corporate/school information system users to define requirements for software enhancements and process improvements. This person will become a functional expert within a specific business operations area and support the schools by ensuring critical issues are resolved, users receive appropriate training and direction, and internal developers and 3rd party vendors receive appropriate business requirements and specifications to improve software applications as business dictates. • Participate in or lead projects to enhance the information systems and surrounding business processes: o Investigate and analyze information systems, methods and procedures related to Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Education and Placement. Drive improvements in systems and functional processes Define and document user requirements Develop and/or review detailed design Plan and perform unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, conversion and implementation o Become a subject matter expert in a functional area (Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Education or Placement). Act as the “go to” person for their assigned area o Become cross trained in other areas of the system to support and collaborate where functional areas are interdependent o Document system requirements and work with business sponsors to determine priority of enhancements to software applications, and work with developers and 3rd party vendors in delivering enhancements and modifications o Participate in software release testing. • Provide documentation, training and communication for new features and related business processes • Travel to schools on an as needed basis to assist schools through critical processing issues • Act as second/third level support for software applications to diagnose and escalate issues to developers and 3rd party vendors as appropriate Required Skills/Qualifications • Strong analytical skills • Ability to effectively translate business requirements into system requirements • Excellent communication, written and group facilitation skills • Proven ability to effectively manage tasks and activities • Excellent Microsoft Office and Visio Skills • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time Desired Skills/Nice to Have • Experience in the post secondary education field, preferably for profit • Experience with CampusVue, CLASS, Exeter, SCT, Peoplesoft Education • 4 year degree • Knowledge of CEC culture and standard operating procedures • Three years experience supporting ERP systems such as SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc Career Education Corporation offers top salaries and a comprehensive benefit program that includes: Medical, Dental, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Program and Tuition Assistance.
