We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst. This is a 3 month contract to hire position with an education organization in Denver, CO.Candidates must have ProClarity & MS Reporting Services experienceObjective: Contribute to the design and implementation of the BI system used by the organization. Functioning within a dynamic, rapid iterative development environment, this Senior-level Business/IT liaison position is responsible for leading the time-sensitive, iterative development of complex analytical models and reports for key stakeholders of all organizational levels involved in highly visible strategic, tactical, & operational initiatives enterprise-wide. Essential Functions: 1. Amidst visible and aggressive deadlines, and input from multiple stakeholders and SMEs, utilize preliminary business and technical requirements to iteratively develop complex transactional and multi-dimensional analytical models and reports for use in monitoring and evaluating enterprise-wide programs and projects. 2. Consistently provide key stakeholders and management with timely and reasonably accurate estimates as to the level of complexity and effort associated with delivering requests. 3. Lead or assist in the custom development of static and dynamic reports, data books, and dashboards; includes actively contributing to, and participating in the preparation, presentation, and review of analytical findings/summaries with key stakeholders (i.e., senior-management). 4. Troubleshoot and resolve complex reporting issues as directed, and document and distribute fixes to key stakeholders and team members. 5. Direct or assist in the development/compilation of comprehensive documentation; i.e., data dictionary, business rules, query logic, data-system inter-dependencies, etc. 6. Lead or assist in the ongoing tracking of key metrics (KPIs) related to performance. 7. Proactively lead the identification and documentation of critical data gaps, and partner internally to manage/assist the migration of the data necessary to close those gaps. 8. Actively participate in the ongoing development, tracking, and continuous improvement of internal, team policies, procedures, and goals. 9. Partner with, mentor, and train strategic stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and more junior team members; includes documenting and responding to ad hoc questions, requests, etc. 10. Manage the migration of existing reports to new applications/versions. 11. Consistently and accurately set expectations, and gain buy-in as necessary. 12. Evangelize state-of-the-art BI technologies and methods to Management, Staff, and other key stakeholders. 13. Balance interests of Business & IT, and prioritize tasks accordingly. 14. Manage focus/scope when interacting with key stakeholders at all levels of organization enterprise-wide. 15. Elicit/detect, and translate critical needs of stakeholders into meaningful business & technical requirements; quantifying and documenting business process optimization opportunities and overall value add while doing so. 16. Document business & technical requirements in a succinct, precise manner to identify attainable project deliverables, and to provide actionable, analytical reporting requirements. 17. Transform business & technical requirements into meaningful and repeatable metrics/KPIs, reporting models, and process enhancements. 18. Proactively identify/detect, analyze, forecast, and monitor emerging patterns/trends, data anomalies, and process optimization opportunities. 19. Iteratively develop complex ad hoc queries, standard reports, & graphs via a suite of applications and tools: ProClarity, MS SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services 2005, MS Excel’07, and various statistical packages. 20. Modify and maintain existing reports. 21. Keep current with latest versions of BI software, techniques, and practices. Research and share new ideas in BI and Enterprise Reporting Strategies. 22. Facilitate progression from reactive to proactive environment, and quantify improvements achieved as appropriate. 23. Participate in weekly team meetings; provide recap of week’s activities and updates related to current or upcoming projects, requests, etc. 24. Perform other related duties, including special projects, as assigned.Required Education, Knowledge, Experience, & Skills: * Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or Statistics * Minimum Experience: 4+ Years * Excellent Interpersonal, Analytical, Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving, & Organizational Skills * Experience working closely with key stakeholders and SMEs across LOBs enterprise-wide (i.e., Finance, HR, Payroll, Budget, Benefits) on key strategic and tactical initiatives. * Practical end-to-end Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, Data Mart implementation experience and knowledge. * Strong understanding of transactional, relational, and dimensional data modeling. * 2-3 years demonstrated experience working with ProClarity, & MS Reporting Services. * Advance knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint or Visio. * 2-3 years demonstrated experience working within RAD, Agile, and/or RUP development environments. * Advance knowledge of dashboard and portal concepts and best practices. * Strong knowledge of SDLC & PLC. * Familiarity with Business Analyst, Project Management tools, concepts & methodologies. * 2-3 years demonstrated Oracle & SQL Database Experience. * 3-years practical Business Analyst (BA) experience, or equivalent experience with statistical analysis or program evaluation.To Apply: Apply Online Now!
