JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (CURRENT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES)This position coordinates the development of the physical science and earth science portions of middle school science instructional materials; responsibilities include initial planning of competitive, highly differentiated products; working collaboratively with colleagues from design, editorial, and other departments; editing manuscript to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of content; ensuring quality of print and technology products through all stages of proof. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EXPERIENCE, SKILL, ACADEMIC)Strong understanding of both pedagogical and market issues. Experience in curriculum materials development and instructional design (visual delivery of instruction.) Familiarity with competitive products and trends in the marketplace. Excellent project management skills; writing skills, strong communication and problem-solving skills; leadership; self-motivating; organization, attention to detail, strong understanding of publishing process. 5 years in curriculum development or the development of instructional materials, at least 2-3 years which have been in the area of Science publishing; teaching experience helpful. B.A. /B.S in science or science education a must.
