Staff Assistant/Data and Information Specialist - Massachusetts College of Art and Design

1) Under the direction of the registrar in the role of Data Steward, reviews and improves data production, quality, and management for the Registrar/Advising office focusing primarily on the data maintained within the Colleague system.

2) Manages the information flow into and out of the R/A area acting as liaison with Information Technology.

3) Assists in the general operations of the Registrar/Advising office including registrations, enrollment verifications, transcripts address changes, advising of students, data maintenance, and other routine operations.

4) Acts as liaison with the Business office, Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Services, Academic Departments and all other campus areas with respect to their needs for data from the R/A area. Produces or assists in the production of standard reports for the student Loan Clearinghouse, NEBHE, Proarts, COF and other agencies.

5) Develops and manages systems and quality control procedures which insure the accuracy, correctness, and completeness of the data flowing into and out of the R/A area.

6) Examines, audits and suggests improvements with the procedures that govern data flow within The R/A area.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
* Extensive experience with a large integrated data base preferably in an educational institution.

* Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced student driven environment

* Ability to work with a diverse population of students, parents and faculty in an emotionally charged environment

* Ability to type, use a phone, operate a computer, copier, fax and other standard office equipment

* Two years office experience or substitutable education

* Ability to bend, reach, stretch, climb on a step stool and carry up to twenty lbs in the context of filing delivering mail and regular office operations

Preferred Qualifications:
* Colleague experience

* College degree in C.I.S

* Expressed desire to join a developing Enrollment Services team
