Storage Management Analyst

Job Responsibilities/Project Details (also include work environment)The Storage Management Analyst will analyze and manage (the distribution of) storage resources for the enterprise. This position will work with their technical counterparts to design, develop, and implement mid-range and enterprise storage area networks. This position will report to the Director of Computer Operations and work closely with project managers, system administrators, and Infrastructure engineers, providing Operational support for storage related projects.Roles and Responsibilities: * Analyze and manage enterprise data storage solutions for mid range and Mainframe platforms.  * Knowledge of multiple (mid range) Operating Systems (e.g. HP-UX, Solaris 8 and Solaris 9, Windows NT4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003) * Knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, Fibre Channel, SNMP, DWDM, and SCSI. * Knowledge of MVS mainframe storage devices and protocol. * Collaborative management of online storage (with other ISC entities) to include allocation, placement, access, space planning, retention, archiving, backup and restore, and offsite storage. * Generate utilization reports and perform routine capacity planning tasks for storage infrastructure in support of SEO technical staff. *  Monitor the maintenance of storage environments, scheduling of firmware updates and hardware procedures * Work with various systems administration teams to understand and meet internal ISC as well as client storage and SAN requirements.  * Participate in the installation, activation, and integration of new storage assets into the storage infrastructure, SAN design and implementation, backup and recovery design and implementation * Insure enterprise (storage management) disaster recovery requirements are defined and met.   Required Skills (HW, SW, App Dev, O/S, DB, etc.  AND  Certifications, Degrees)  * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or related field. * Linux or Unix certification preferred. * 3-5 years experience working in a large MVS mainframe and Unix environment. * Proven experience with project management * Proven planning and communication skills Microsoft suite  Using IBM Storage subsystem.  Need experience with SVC: SAN Volume Controller and TSPC: Total Storage Productivity Center Company: Keystone Computer Associates, Inc.
