Teacher (All Subjects Needed PA Certifications)


Purpose

-To instruct multilevel students in a small classroom setting

-To incorporate the Pennsylvania Academic Standards, NHACS curriculum, Project Based Learning and PSSA practice materials into lesson planning and delivery.

-To utilize technology and adult world connections across the curriculum

 -To provide leadership development, and character education activities within the classroom.

 

Responsibilities



1) Utilize information gathered from diagnostic and pre and post assessments to develop level appropriate lesson plans.



2)  Work in conjunction with the Project Coordinator in developing, implementing and assessing student projects.

3)  Collaborate and work as a team member with NHACS teachers.

4)  Complete all required paperwork and data collection accurately and within the mandated time frame.

5)  Implement attendance and behavior policies and procedures consistently.

6)  Communicate with parents/guardians regularly.

7)  Attend all scheduled meetings and trainings

8)  Perform additional duties as requested by the supervisor.

 

 Qualifications



1) Bachelor’s degree in education.  PA Instructional I and/or II certification in core teaching area required.

2) Five years experience teaching or working with adolescents

3) Documented experience in creative curriculum planning and development.

4) Respect for the ideas and intelligence of children we serve.

5) Strong commitment to helping students succeed in an innovative charter school by reorienting their lives, nurturing their leadership skills and enabling them to make a difference in their community.



6) Ability to relate sensitively to a multiracial and multicultural group of

students

7) Excellent oral and written communication skills.



8) Ability to teach and work as part of team.
