Technical Trainer
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the nation’s leading youth-mentoring organization, is actively seeking candidates for our Technical Trainer position located in our National office in Center City Philadelphia.
The Technical Trainer will work closely with L & D manager, IT and SMEs across departments, designs, develops and delivers technical training programs, online courses and technical documentation utilized by staff at all levels and functions in the BBBS network of agencies, fully meets objectives; actively improves business performance. Also acts as system administrator for Talent & Learning Management system.
Responsibilities:
§ Conducts needs assessments and performs task analyses to develop training, e-learning and performance support for new/existing BBBS software/applications or functional processes.
§ Recommends appropriate learning and development solutions to address knowledge, skill and performance gaps/issues and to support organizational objectives
§ Creates, updates, enhances and supports content for synchronous and asynchronous learning programs-- including but not limited to web-based training, online toolkits, workshops, student guides, and virtual classroom/webinars—ensuring high content quality, accessibility, and usability.
§ Supports the implementation and administration of the talent / learning management system, including updating data tables, creating and analyzing reports and designing / updating communication to agencies about products.
§ Supports the Director, Learning and Development with evaluation and selection of new technologies, training tools and vendor services to support ongoing organizational learning needs.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s level degree in Education, Instructional Design or Adult Learning.
Two to five years experience in the design, development and facilitation of web-based or on-line learning programs. Experience with Learning Management/ Talent Management systems a plus.
Experience and skill in developing on-line content in a content management system or standalone authoring tool (e.g. Toolbook, Trainersoft, Captivate, etc.)
Experience and skill in web conferencing tools and software (e.g. Webex, LiveMeeting, etc.)
Ability to effectively build and manage relationships across BBBSA and the network of BBBS agencies
Solid diagnostic and analytical skills
