You will become a key member of our Digital Product Development team, helping to build scalable, high-performance educational software products used by millions of students and teachers all over the country.Summary:The Technical Writer is responsible for activities involving the design, development and implementation of printed and online project documentation including planning, organizing, writing and editing internal and external user guides and project documents.Duties:'Work closely with product leads, sales, customer support, engineering, and development staff in the analysis of project requirements and the development of Product Requirements and Functional Specification documents.'Produce full install documentation for all products.'Produce 'quick' install documentation for all products.'Produce troubleshooting documentation for all products.'Produce and deliver internal and external product-related documentation and bulletins.'Administrate and maintain Project Schedule for Technical Writer and Software Development tasks.'Participate in design and production of web-based documentation and training tools. Job Requirements'Minimum of two years technical writing experience required (may count relevant college experience ' must provide samples of work).'Experience with computers, software design and implementation. 'Strong technical writing skills' demonstrated ability to write clear, concise documentation for both a technical and a non-technical audience.'Must have an understanding of type, print production, and layout and design principles.'Must possess a strong knowledge of word processing, text editing, automated proofing, online help and graphics. 'Knowledge of desktop publishing software preferred.'Webpage design and development experience.'Effective project management skills when working with a deadline.'Ability to interview subject matter experts to determine product and software requirements.'Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering, technical writing or related field, or equivalent experience.
