Temporary Truck Driver Position. Requirements: Must have a valid PA Class B Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat endorsement, High School Diploma or GED a minimum of two years experience driving a straight truck of at least 18 ft. length. Job responsibilities include but are not limited too: pick up and deliveries of mail, packages, goods on Oakland campus as well as, Branch Campuses and other off campus areas owned/or operated by the University of Pittsburgh. Pickup biohazardous waste on a weekly basis and/or when needed. Position requires driving on and off campus. Incumbent must be familiar with the greater Pittsburgh area and surroundings. Ability to prioritize work. Requires actual handling and transporting of hazardous material(s). (Professional personnel from Facilities Management are required to be present and they are to do the actual handling of materials.) Requires extensive walking, sitting, driving up to six hours a day and lifting atleast 70 lbs. Special projects as assigned. Days and hours of operation: Monday thru Friday hours of work (daylight) are associated with routes and will vary. Must be able to work overtime as deemed necessary. Must be courteous at all times. The selected candidate is required to pass a mandatory DOT drug and alcohol screening and to have a satisfactory report from the DMV.
