Training & Competency Specialist - Yakima
Deliver general and task specific training to meet the training requirements of staff. Provide retraining of staff as required. Administer competency determination instruments upon completion of training to ensure staff meets function/task certification requirements. Conduct training in accordance with program objectives and plans. Support the trainees' needs in the learning process, answer questions knowledgeably and accurately and resolve issues relating to national and local requirements. Use appropriate training techniques according to audience and type of training being delivered. Adhere strictly to policies and procedures governing regulated functions.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations.
Major Responsibilities:
Coordinate and conduct training and retraining activities to certify new and incumbent staff in the performance of their job functions in accordance with standard operating procedures and applicable Federal, state and local regulations.
Administer tests to determine competency of staff performance of specific job functions.
Complete all requisite training documentation, to include electronic documentation.
May perform operational specific job functions in addition to training responsibilities.
Maintain thorough understanding of their role and responsibilities under the Master Training System and perform duties in compliance with CFR, standard operating procedures, current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), OSHA, safety regulations, and other applicable rules and regulations as applicable.
Perform other related duties as necessary.
Scope:
Conduct and document training in compliance with applicable procedures and in accordance with program objectives and plans.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent experience is preferred. Minimum two years experience in a healthcare environment, preferably a blood center. Thorough subject matter expertise in area of instruction preferred. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills required. Working knowledge of computers, and experience in applicable software and training equipment/technology required.
Essential Functions/Physical Requirements:
Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Must be in front of class for extended periods of time to deliver classes. Ability to lift up to 25. Must be able to speak clearly for classroom instruction. May have to travel to off-site locations.
