University Housing Leasing Supervisor

The University Housing Office at San Francisco State University seeks candidates for the position of Leasing Supervisor.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The University Housing Leasing Supervisor is responsible for the administration, sales and marketing of University-owned rental units at University Park North and University Park South. 

 

The Leasing Supervisor evaluates operational efficiency and develops and implements recommendations for maintaining and enhancing the activities of the University Park Rental Office.  This includes the drafting of license agreements for new and renewals tenants, the management and issuance of parking spaces and permits, the oversight of all leasing functions in the ONESITE leasing software program. The position acts as a liaison to Residential Property Management in regard to maintenance and readiness of rental units. Act as a liaison to the San Francisco Housing Authority in regard to section 8 tenancy. Coordinate with the Housing Financial Services renewal and rent increase processes as well as move-outs and general account reconciliation for tenants.

 

The position conducts direct marketing plans for attracting potential residents and tenants. Generate all marketing material including web-based marketing and sales information for all properties, newsletters and social community calendars. Develop strategies and materials related to the license agreement process for all properties.  Make off-site marketing calls in order to gain exposure and encourage business, preparing and analyzing the market, making recommendations, shopping the competition for rate analysis, pricing and policy recommendations. Analyze the market and competition and oversee the marketing activities based on the information that is gathered.  Implement and monitor all types of advertising used to maintain occupancy as outlined in the annual operating budget.  Complete and review market survey to maintain current knowledge of local markets. Prepare required marketing reports as needed.

 

This position involves supervising the daily work of a team of three full-time staff members, being a liaison with Human Resources in filling vacant positions, ensuring that staff are appropriately trained in their job responsibilities that performance is evaluated, and that any conduct or disciplinary issues are referred to the Associate Director for appropriate action. Direct leasing activities including meeting and greeting the general public, answering telephones, demonstrating model units and giving tours, verifying application for residency, executing marketing material, placing phone calls to potential residents, preparing license agreement and other lease type documents, processing notices to vacate, preparing promotional items, delivering lease renewals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must have in-depth experience in the property management industry sufficient to successfully perform the responsibilities described above.  This must include experience supervising a staff. Candidate must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to project a positive image and attitude about the University, and the University Housing Office.  Must possess strong working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite, web applications such as web site design and marketing, property management software including the OneSite/Real Page property management software.  Candidate must have strong professional skills, the ability to work independently and follow through with tasks completely and timely.  Candidate must possess a strong ability to coordinate multiple, projects simultaneously and ensure compliance with safety, staffing, security and other related services in a professional, proactive manner. Candidate must have the ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and business professionals.  Candidate must have the ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate and perform functions in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Professional demeanor and comportment to positively represent the University and University Housing department is a must.  Regular attendance and a flexible workweek are mandatory.  The incumbent must be customer service-oriented and genuinely support and promote good resident relations and service to staff and residents.
