Job Summary: This position is the primary leadership position for the Business Development function for CCLC. Responsibilities include partnering with other senior company executives, providing input into the development of the division’s goals and initiatives and primarily owning responsibility for their strategic implementation. This position is responsible for obtaining financial results and other performance objectives and for growing the CCLC business.
Job Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Develop and implement the CCLC Business Development Strategic Business Plan which fully supports the financial objectives for the division.Develop and implement strategic plans to secure new contracts, and ensure that existing contracts are maintained to increase the division’s revenues.Lead the new business development process.Review and approve all business proposals.Ensure positive client relationships and contract renewals.Collaborate with marketing to increase industry awareness of our products and services.Recruit, hire, train, support and motivate Business Development team.Develop, maintain, and monitor annual department budget. Develop strategies and set goals to achieve New Business Development key objectivesCreate best in class sales presentations and written proposals. Respond to RFPs/questionnaires from prospects or consultantsPresent sales proposals and manage potential client relationships professionally and independentlyNetwork with potential clients and partner with Regional Managers and Client Services to create new sales leadsParticipate in marketing activities, including trade gatherings and conferencesWork with the Manager of National Programs to develop and roll out a single discount programExplore new products and services that utilize our exiting centers nationwideLead nationwide programs (DCAP) to increase client participation.Provide information and feedback on financials models of all new business being brought forward for approvalDevelop additional employer-sponsored productsNegotiate contract terms that are consistent with client expectations and CCLC development standardsConvert sales leads to achieve sales goalsFacilitate the development process of approved sitesPlan and facilitate annual Client MeetingFacilitate Client involvement in critical conferences, events.Collaborate with Founder on International Strategy
Adaptability Requirements:
High-Position requires a high degree of adaptability. Incumbent will be faced with a variety of issues on a day-to-day basis and will be expected to respond to these issues appropriately.
Working Conditions:
Frequent travel required – 50 to 60%. Work may be performed in an office environment or while traveling.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business or education. Master’s degree preferred.A minimum of 10 years new business development and service industry experience.3+ years of experience managing a multi-unit business preferred.Experience working within an early education-focused business preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to develop and successfully articulate company/product vision both internally and externally requiredDemonstrated ability to successfully lead a team of managers and professional staff required.Strategic and tactical planning skills required.Excellent oral and written communication skills required.Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage conflict and facilitate resolution of issues with clients and internal and external departments and customers. Ability to develop internal processes and operations to support new business initiatives requiredDemonstrated skills in designing and implementing successful plans and processes to get new business requiredStrong skills in financial and business analysis required Ability to develop ROI and break-even analysis for business models requiredStrong presentation skills and the ability to write for, and present to different audiences, including senior level managementStrong verbal and written communication skills requiredAbility to align and foster teamwork within a diverse group of resources requiredAbility to work independently and with limited supervision requiredProficient in the use of an office computer and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint requiredAbility to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and adapt to an environment with shifting priorities requiredStrong conflict resolution and problem solving skills required
