EXCITING PART TIME OPPORTUNITY IN VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE WITH NEWON COMMUNITY SERVICE CENTER AND SOAR55

The Volunteer Outreach Coordinator will help to create, develop and manage a comprehensive volunteer recruitment program for Newton Community Service Center and assist the SOAR 55 program with community outreach and volunteer recruitment.

Your responsibilities will include:

For SOAR55researching community resources that will yield appropriate volunteers for SOAR55’s volunteer assignments.when appropriate, making in-person connections with contact people within those resourcesmaintaining relationships with contact peopledeveloping and following an organized scheduled system of outreach activitiesmeeting the recruitment goals set forth by the program directorhelping with administrative tasks as necessary and as time allows

FOR NCSCproviding workshops and materials for program managers and other members of the leadership team to get “buy-in” for volunteer assignments to include:thinking “outside the box” with volunteer assignmentscreating compelling job descriptionsmanaging and use volunteers effectivelyorientation and training of volunteerssupervision of volunteersrewarding/recognizing volunteersworking with leadership team to develop volunteer position descriptions that clearly define the program’s needs, the desired skills, interests and commitment necessary for a successful match.


Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree required

2-3 years of organizational experience with volunteers and community organizing
