Web Developer

KC Distance Learning (KCDL), a leader in the rapidly evolving field of K-12 distance learning, operates Keystone National High School, iQ Academies and Aventa Learning. Job Summary: 



The Web Developer is responsible for maintenance and development of KCDL corporate and marketing web sites.  This position will partner closely with the KCDL Marketing department to define requirements and needs. 

 



Job Responsibilities:



Essential Functions:

· Modify existing web sites as specified in requirements from Marketing

· Partner with Marketing to implement Content Management system on existing web sites

· Follow defined development methodologies

· Meet deadlines as defined in the web site release calendar

 

Non-essential Functions:

· Recommend new tools and technologies as applicable

 

Adaptability Requirements:



· Position requires a moderate degree of adaptability.  Incumbent will work within a fairly defined release schedule and well defined process for gathering requirements.

 



Working Conditions:



  Location: OR-Portland

  Schedule: Full-time

  Travel: Minimal, if any

 

Experience and Education:



· 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

 

Requirements: 



· Strong proficiency using web page development tools including HTML (both page layout and web forms), CSS and JavaScript.

· Ability to develop attractive, maintainable websites.

· The ability to interact with business users independently, including the ability to route and escalate decisions or questions to supervisors, appropriately.

· Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.

· Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and grow into increasing responsibilities as the organization and its application portfolio expands.

· Familiarity with using JSP, PHP, or ASP.NET to create interactive web pages.

 

Desirable Skills: 



· Strong proficiency using web page development tools including HTML (both page layout and web forms), CSS and JavaScript.
