Duties And Responsibilities:
The AA&D webmaster/SharePoint Developer will become the technical web lead for Alumni Affairs and Development. S/he will have responsibility for the newly developed AA&D web projects starting with the Post.Harvard university-wide alumni portal redesign and implementation and then moving on to the other web projects for AA&D clients. This technical lead will support SharePoint (MOSS 2007) and .NET framework, and s/he will work with end users and clients in a consultative manner defining requirements and functional specs. This person will be managing multiple projects and products at once and therefore will be responsible for ensuring technical consistency throughout AA&D's web presence. S/he will be responsible for performing day-to-day technical site maintenance for all of AA&D's web products and sites. Sets and enforces company standards for technical design, and checking browser compatibility. Oversees quality-control for content input by employees throughout the organization with varying degrees of Internet skills and advise staff on how to best optimize their content for online deployment. Documents web-best practices and continually trains staff to adhere to these practices. Develops highly reusable, well documented code as needed for both front-end (Javascript, Flash) and back-end (.NET) applications, working closely with other employees to assess organizational needs. Working closely with the HAA's Director of Online Programs, this position will be responsible for coordinating and supporting a large network of administrators across the University. Experience working with MOSS 2007, recommend changes in support, administrative, and system maintenance standards and processes to support SharePoint infrastructure. **Note: The reporting relationship for this position may change upon completion of the Post.Harvard alumni website conversion, or when a formal web governance structure is created in AA&D, late 2008/early 2009.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
The successful candidate must possess a BA/BS degree plus 3-5 years related experience. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 3+ years of experience with HTML 3.2/4.0 at the tag level. 3+ years of CSS-based, table-free design. 3+ years of experience with Dreamweaver. 2+ years of DHTML and client-side JavaScript programming experience. 2+ years of thorough knowledge of browser compatibility issues for all platforms/major browsers. 2+ years of .NET framework server-side development. 2+ years conversion of existing images (TIFF, BMP, PSD) for online use (JPG, GIF) using Adobe ImageReady and/or PhotoShop as well as image editing and design skills. Knowledge of the development of Flash applications including rudimentary Actionscript programming. Knowledge of one or more Microsoft SharePoint Business Intelligence and Reporting tools (Business Objects, Crystal Enterprise, Crystal Reports, etc.) Understanding of and experience with object-oriented design and architectural practices preferred. Must be collaborative and an effective manager. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal abilities and mentoring skills. Experience with content management applications (RedDot, Ektron, SiteCore), etc. 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server technical, preferred.
