Youth Specialist

The Greyston Foundation is an integrated network of community-based organizations that serve Westchester County and northern New York City with employment, affordable housing, childcare, HIV health care and other services.

We are looking for a Youth Specialist to provide direct service for our youth services programs including: APYA (Workforce Development/GED) placement/life skills training program for at-risk youth between the ages of 16-21), YO Kidz (Computer Training/Business Entrepreneurship Program for youth between the ages of 10-14), Wachovia Financial Literacy & Computer Training Program & our licensed After-School Program (between the ages of 5-14).




Skills



Experience working with at-risk youth, providing intense case management/needs assessment and developing reports (ages 16-21) for 20-25 youth.



Ability to engage and motivate youth; develop/facilitate creative workshops on business entrepreneurship, facilitate workshops on basic computers, financial literacy, life skills and college prep.



Experience working in school-aged childcare, developing age-appropriate activities, coordinating/supervising youth on trips and providing homework assistance.



Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.



Flexible in working on occasional evenings and weekends.

 





Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.



Requires an Associates Degree. Bachelor's degree is a plus



Two years of professional experience in a youth services role.
