2 Positions-Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, Electrical, Electronics Metering

TRICAD Engineering has the following positions available for an Engineering Manager and in Lafayette, IN.  This is a direct position with our client.

Our client is the recognized industry leader in North America for Energy Reference Standards, Energy Meter Testing Systems, Current Transformer Testers, DC to AC Transfer Standards, and Automated Laboratory Energy Reference Systems. Client provides both portable and primary energy reference standards that are absolutely unequaled in accuracy, stability and reliability. Customers typically consist of electric utility companies, energy meter manufacturers, energy meter test board manufacturers and governmental bureaus of energy measurement reference.

JOB TITLE:  MANAGER – ENGINEERING  

 

DEPARTMENT: Development Engineering Reports to: President  Positions Supervised:  Developmental Engineering Team

 

Position Summary: Manage all aspects of the Developmental Engineering Department to accomplish annual operating plan goals.  Plan, organize and coordinate a team of engineers and technicians to design and develop new products according to specifications – these new products will include electrical instrumentation involving extreme accuracy, A/D converters, DSPs and electronically compensated transformers.  Actively manage new product development projects, utilizing project management techniques, to ensure milestones are met and goals are achieved while also utilizing your technical abilities to be an active player on the project team.  Effectively evaluate existing staff and manage to get maximum performance and value.  Effectively recruit additional talent as needed.  Play a supporting role to customer issues, production issues, quality issues and take appropriate actions for sustaining existing products that are crucial to the company’s cash flow.

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Keep the President informed of all pertinent information.

·  Management of engineering personnel, including the assembly of engineering project teams. 

·  Implement project management strategies, including the use of Gant style charts with design milestones and design reviews.

·  Recruitment of engineering personnel.

·  Assist in defining new products with the Chief Engineer, Sales Manager and President.

·  Plan and design engineering programs and processes.

·  Implement the release of new products to production.

·  Support technology development.

·  Maintain ongoing quality improvement efforts.

·  Provide leadership and technical support to project team members.

·  Work on a multi-departmental team to accomplish project goals.

·  Other items as needed.

 

 

Education:  BS EE required.  MBA preferred.

 

Experience: Minimum of 15 years total experience in development engineering with a minimum of 5 years as a development engineer and a minimum of 3 years as a project leader.
