JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an Applications Engineer with a technical background to join our Technical Services department.  The Applications Engineering position is ideal for anyone looking for a change from working in an engineering lab environment.  If you have good communication skills and enjoy working with people this could be a great opportunity for you.  The Applications Engineer’s primary job function is to communicate various technical aspects of our products and/or testing applications to individuals who may not have a technical background, including the sales and customer support groups, as well as our customers.  Some travel is required to provide regional support to customers and sales offices. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

· Write, edit and format Company owner’s manuals.  

· Provide product applications training for the sales group, service technicians and other personnel.

· Provide applications support to customers through telephone contact, written correspondence and on-site visits.

· Write technical white papers for distribution to customers and to be posted on the Company website. 

· Write technical articles for publication in industry trade magazines.  Common topics for articles range from basic testing applications to new industry trends in testing.

· Research new or revised safety specifications.

· Review the Company’s promotional material to verify technical accuracy of all documents.

· Teach regional seminars, on-line web seminars and customized training programs conducted at customer locations

· Develop new product marketing specifications for the engineering group.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

· A degree in electrical or electronics engineering

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Desire to work independently

· Ability to work on several projects concurrently
