Position Description:As an integral member of the customer design engineering team, the Customer Design Engineer provides technical support to the company's sales staff, customers and peers, on complex issues such as chip floor planning, place and route, timing analysis, signal integrity, test, and design verification. Uses wide ranging and in depth experience during analysis of situations or data that may require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Position incumbent will exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.As part of customer engineering design team, you will be responsible for all aspects of SoC physical implementation from RTL to GDS, including chip floor plan, power grid design, clock distribution, full chip assembly, P&R, cross talk analysis, EM/IR drop analysis, timing closure, and physical verification (DRC/LVS/ERC/Antenna), tapeout and mask review. Candidate will also participate in establishing and defining physical design methodologies and flow automation. Experience should be focused on SoC physical design implementation in 90nm and/or 65nm technology with knowledge of static timing, Synopsys layout flow, DRC/LVS and DFM. Must be a power user of Synopsys(Milkyway/ICC) P&R tools Should also be familiar with HSPICE, PT, LEC, and Calibre. Comfortable in Unix, proficient in Perl, Cshell, and tcl scripting.
